Hello everyone!
Merry Christmas and Happy holidays to you all!

Since it's getting close to that time of year again, I decided to make a batch of cookies the other day. Sugar cookies to be exact, but with a festive twist!
They came out really well. Tasted and looked great! I posted them on here a few days ago, and I was surprised that you guys liked the looks of them so much haha
So, I decided to give you guys the recipe that I've made to try these out at home!
They're not hard at all to make, probably pretty easy actually, but if you want to make your cookies look like mine then I'm happy to share how to do it! :)

  • Makes: 3 dozen cookies
  • Prep: 20 mins
  • Cook: 8-10 mins
  • Ready in: 20 mins
What you'll need:

  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup butter, softened/creamy
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (or as much as you'd like)
  • Red & green food coloring
  • Festive sprinkles

When I added 1 cup of butter it didn't seem to be enough, so when I started mixing it all together the dough came out a little loose and wouldn't stick together right. If that happens to you, then simply add about another quarter of softened butter to the mix. Make sure the butter is almost creamy.
Once these cookies are ready for the oven you better watch them closely, because they'll be ready in hardly any time at all!

Prep time!
  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). In a small bowl, stir together flour, baking soda, and baking powder. Set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in egg and vanilla. Gradually blend in the dry ingredients.
  3. Once the ingredients are mixed together, separate the dough into two perfect halves, place each half in a bowl. Put a few drops of red food coloring in one bowl of dough, and green in the other. Mix together with a big spoon, or hands until the color is fully blended. Roll rounded teaspoonsful of dough into balls.
  4. After you shape the dough into balls, put sprinkles in a small bowl (individual bowl for each color) Roll each ball in the sprinkles, then place on ungreased cookie sheet.
  5. Bake 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until they've risen. Let stand on cookie sheet two minutes before removing to cool on wire racks.
  6. Eat and enjoy!
Done!

If any of you use this recipe, or try it out for the holidays, I'd love to hear from you! I would be curious to hear how your cookies came out! :)
